Full casting has been announced for the UK premiere of Next To Normal at the Donmar Warehouse
Olivier Award winner and Tony Award nominee Jamie Parker, Jack Ofrecio, Jack Wolfe and Olivier Award winner and BAFTA nominee Eleanor Worthington-Cox will join previously announced Grammy Award nominee Caissie Levy and Trevor Dion Nicholas.
Caissie Levy plays Diana – her extensive theatre credits including Broadway productions Leopoldstadt, The Bedwetter, Caroline, or Change, Frozen, Les Misérables, Murder Ballad, Ghost The Musical, Hair, Wicked, and Hairspray. Her West End credits include Ghost The Musical and Hair.
Trevor Dion Nicholas plays Dr. Madden/Dr. Fine. He played George Washington in the West End production of Hamilton, with other credits including Disney’s Aladdin in the West End, on Broadway and the US Tour, Big River, The Wiz, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Ragtime, The Little Mermaid, The Wizard of Oz, Into the Woods, Little Shop of Horrors, Rent, The Exonerated and This is the Life.

The West End cast recording of Next to Normal will be released on May 30, 2025. Led by Caissie Levy, the album features the full original London cast and will be available on all major digital streaming platforms.
Fans can already find a Spotify listing for the release, where composer Tom Kitt has launched an official countdown ahead of the album’s debut. The original London cast recording includes 38 tracks capturing the emotional depth and intensity of the stage production.
This revival of the Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical began at the Donmar Warehouse before transferring to Wyndham’s Theatre in the West End for a limited run. Alongside Levy, the cast includes Jack Wolfe, Eleanor Worthington-Cox, Jamie Parker, Jack Ofrecio, and Trevor Dion Nicholas.
Directed by Michael Longhurst, Next to Normal tells the story of Diana Goodman, a mother living with bipolar disorder, as she and her family navigate the complexities of mental illness, memory, and grief. With music by Tom Kitt and book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey, the show continues to resonate with audiences for its honest and moving portrayal of mental health.

A cast recording of the critically-acclaimed West End movie of NEXT TO NORMAL is planned, it has been rumoured.
The much-requested cast album would reportedly follow on from the pro-shot recording, which recently aired on PBS in America.
The West Cease production starred Caissie Levy, Trevor Dion Nicholas, Jack Ofrecio, Olivier Award winner and Tony Award nominee Jamie Parker, Jack Wolfe and Olivier Award winner and BAFTA nominee Eleanor Worthington-Cox.
When the landmark musical debuted on Broadway in 2010, Ben Brantley of The New York Times called it “Brave and breathtaking. It is something much more than a feel-good musical; it is a feel-everything musical.” And Peter Marks of The Washington Share called it “a moving, blisteringly honest, and inordinately powerful modern musical stocked with beautiful songs that get to the heart of the story – and simply get to the heart.”
NEXT TO NORMAL went on to win three Tony Awards, including Best Original Score, as skillfully as the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, one of only 10 musicals in history to collect the prestigious honour.

The full cast has been announced for Next To Normal, which begins performances of its West End transfer at the Wyndham's Theatre on 18 June 2024.
Joining the previously announced cast members Caissie Levy, Jamie Parker, Jack Wolfe, Eleanor Worthington-Cox, Trevor Dion Nicholas and Jack Ofrecio are Carolyn Maitland (Woman in White, Jersey Boys) as standby Diana, having previously performed this role during the Donmar Warehouse season, alongside new cast members Ben Heathcote (The Beautiful Game, Fame) as standby Dan / Dr. Madden / Dr. Fine, Lizzy Parker (Heathers: The Musical) as standby Natalie, Jake Reynolds (Grease, Sunshine on Leith) as standby Gabe / Henry.
