# How to connect to Iterable on Workato

The connector uses API key authentication to connect Workato to Iterable.

# Generating an API key

1. After logging into Iterable, head over to the “Integrations” tab in the top navigation bar and select the API key option in the drop-down.

1. You’ll be brought to the view where you can generate a new API key for your Workato connector.

1. Generate a Standard API key and give it a meaningful name. Here, we gave it the name, 'Workato-demo'. After this is done, simply provide the same key to the connector and you should be able to make a successful connection.

   Sending Completion Events from eduMe to Iterable

   Send events from eduMe to Iterable and build diverse and effective distribution methods.

   Prerequisites

   • You’ve integrated your Iterable and eduMe accounts. For more details, refer to the Integrating with Iterable article.
   • You’ve created a course to send events for.

   Procedure
   

   To send events from eduMe to Iterable:

   1. Select the Settings representative in the course you’d prefer to send events for.
      
       
   2. In the Event Reporting section, switch the Iterable toggle on.
   3. Turn on the status for Course completed event.
      
   4. Optionally, you can edit the event name.

   Iterable

   Overview​

   This webhook integration lets you track a variety of events provided by Iterable through their System Webhooks. The event types include email opens and clicks, sent SMS or push notifications, and more.

   Configure Iterable to send events to Snowplow​

   First, login to Iterable. Under Integrations in the top toolbar, click on System webhooks.

   Then select Create webhook above the list of webhooks on the right and enter the endpoint URL. The endpoint URL field is the URI to your Snowplow Collector. We use a special path to tell Snowplow that these events are generated by Iterable:

   You may want to set the snowplow  parameter in your URL query string to the company for which this webhook has been configured; this is the  parameter taken from the Snowplow Tracker Protocol, however this is optional. The company is also contained in the received messages.

   If you want, you can also manually override the event's  parameter by appending a query string to the end of the URL, in combination or separately with aid above. Here is what the final URL would look like for a configured aid and platform:

   Step 3: Test the Iterable Connection

   After configuring the connector in your application:

   1. Save the configuration settings.
   2. Test the connection to Iterable from the AI Squared platform to ensure a connection is made.
