Chick-fil-a to open a restaurant in benton township next week

Set to open in February is the new Chick-Fil-A in Benton Township.
The Chick-Fil-A located at 1917 Pipestone Road off I-94 exit 29 is now hiring and seeking out applicants on its Facebook page. The restaurant has not specified its exact opening date, but says February.
The Chick-Fil-A is located on the former site of a Steak ‘n Shake and the developers purchased adjacent property owned by Brookfield Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram to allow for more parking to accommodate the expected long lines of cars that will constantly be wrapped around the building.
The Benton Township Zoning Board of Appeals in July approved a signage variance for the establishment so it could erect a 60-foot sign that will be visible from I-94. The maximum sign height allowed by the township’s ordinance is 40 feet.
Chick-Fil-A developers told us in 2023 they selected Benton Harbor for a new location because they expect the establishment to do well there.

“We’re looking forward to having a Chick-fil-A join our family in the township as a business,” Supervisor Cathy Yates said Tuesday. “... It gives people options. We want people to have as many options as possible when it comes to spending their money.”

First Chick-Fil-A in Southwestern Michigan Announces Grand Opening
Since the first Chick-fil-A opened in the Grand Rapids area in 2016, it seems new ones are popping up all the time.
By now, I figured the fast food chicken chain had spread all across the entire state... turns out I was wrong.

There are spots in Michigan that are Chick-fil-A deserts: The Upper Peninsula, the thumb, southwestern Michigan.
Some consider Kalamazoo and Calhoun counties southwest Michigan; which yes, there are Chick-fil-a locations in Kzoo, Portage, and Battle Creek, but not south of there until you cross over the Indiana border.

That is about to change. Later this month, a new Chick-fil-A is set to open in Berrien County.
The fast food joint is located at 1917 Pipestone Road in Benton Harbor. It will open at 6:30a.m. on February 27.

BENTON TOWNSHIP — A new Chick-Fil-A is about to open in Berrien County, which will combine about 145 new jobs in Benton Township.
The new location at 1917 Pipestone Road will expose at 6:30 a.m. on Thursday next week. Patrons can leave to the fast-food restaurant for dine-in, drive-thru, carry-out, delivery and mobile thru from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday. The Benton Township location will feature a playground to serve guests with children.
