Can't access any online feature. Game wont give me an option to sign in.

I bought and installed 2K25 last night, and since then have been immensely dissapointed. I have been unable to access ANY online feature of the game, because when I try, I am greeted with a pop up that says 'You must be online in order to play _____)

The problem is, I AM ONLINE! The 2K server status is up and running, and I see lots of other PC users playing the game. I don't know why mine won't let me.

I don't know if this is an issue with Steam, as I have had no response from 2K Support yet.

Is anyone else having this issue? It's frustrating me so much. I've spent all this money to play a game, and I literally can't.

Is anyone else having these issues? I've tried re-installing twice, also verified files a bunch of times, and nothing. Still the same loop of 'not being online' - clicking 'connect' - just to be told I am not online.

HELP!

NBA 2K23 Server Sunset Notification (December 31, 2024)

Hit the locker room, it's time for NBA 2K23 to be discontinued as of December 31, 2024. This game will no longer be available for purchase as of November 30, 2024.

If you already own the game you will still be able to redownload and play offline modes.

After this date, you will no longer be able to play multiplayer games or access any online game modes. MyCAREER and MyTEAM will no longer be available, and it will no longer be possible to earn Virtual Currency (VC). While you will still be able to enjoy Play Now, MyNBA, The W, and MyWNBA, any features that require a connection to 2K servers will be unavailable. This includes multiplayer, Online Leagues, and community sharing.

NBA 2K24 All MyCareer Game Modes

NBA 2K24 Rec Game Mode

The rec has been rising in popularity the past few years as this mode most resembles basketball. It is 5v5 with four 5 minute quarters. These games are often intense and closely mirror the atmosphere of real-life pickup basketball, complete with player positions, teamwork, and tactics. Players can earn experience points, level up their characters, and unlock various cosmetic and gameplay-related rewards.

There are two doors you can enter, one is no squads where everyone is solo. The game will matchmake you with random teammates fulfilling each position based on those players' builds. The other door is for people who had friends in a squad. You can join with a full 5 stack, or 4 people and 1 AI, or 3 people and get matched with another duo. Or 2 people and get matched with another trio.

Rec is generally considered the best place to earn Rep, Badge progress, season XP and MyPoints of the online pvp game modes
